    WATS sponsor of the QNT Northwest Passage 2006/2007 expedition

    Expedition “In Search of the Legend”

    Passion and determination allowed Amundsen to achieve his goal… He conquered the Northwest Passage. 100 years later, driven by the same passion, six young men on the 15-meter yacht “Stary” in the Far North want to repeat his feat and immortalize the history of the expeditions on film.

    This extremely difficult sailing route was finally conquered by them on September 19, 2006 (by entering the Pacific waters through the Bering Strait, the crew of the yacht “Stary” closed the symbolic gate of the Northwest Passage). The crew thus became the youngest crew in the history of conquering this route – the average age was 25 years.
    The expedition resulted in the production of a wonderful film “In Search of the Legend” (2007). Directed by: Konstanty Kulik.

    Expedition to the wreck of the Polish warship Grom sunk in Narvik at 105m
    A six-person team of Polish divers managed to descend to the wreck of the destroyer Grom, sunk in 1940 off Narvik. It was not easy because the wreck lies at a depth of over one hundred meters. They managed not only to dive down, but also to film and photograph everything.

    We are a representative of the Polish manufacturer of inflatable products WATS and the Cherek’s Kraulquappen brand.
    Our mission is to help people learn to swim, overcome trauma, become comfortable in the water, as well as educate and promote water safety.
    The first Cherek’s Kraulquappen armbands were designed over 20 years ago in Germany thanks to experience gained from baby and children’s swim lessons at a swim school. Subsequently improved and manufactured in Poland, the product continues to be systematically refined to this day.

    The floaties are intended for everyone from around 6 months of age. They help in getting accustomed to water and learning to swim, for anyone who wants to feel comfortable in the water and expects high quality, guarantees, and safety.
    The armbands come in several models depending on the user and their skill level:

    The green ones are for infants starting their water adventure. Recommended for first contact with water.

    The red ones are for children who already feel more comfortable in the water but still need support; they provide greater freedom of movement.

    The green-and-red ones feature a larger inner opening, allowing teenagers or people with disabilities to use the armbands.

    The yellow ones offer significantly higher buoyancy and an inner opening that allows adults to use the product.

    In the conflict in Ukraine, one of the effective ways to deceive the opponent and conceal forces is the use of inflatable decoys. Inflatable decoys are not only easy to use, but also economical and provide an excellent means of weakening enemy forces.

    Inflatable decoys are high-quality replicas of tanks or other military vehicles made of durable and flexible material. These decoys are filled with air, causing them to appear as full-sized vehicles, so the enemy can easily mistake them for real ones.

    They have many advantages in armed conflicts. First, they are highly effective in deceiving the opponent and can help weaken their morale. The opponent may expend a lot of their resources combating these dummy vehicles, diverting their attention from real targets and enabling more effective military operations.

    Second, inflatable decoys are very easy to use and require only minimal handling. There is no need to train specialists to operate them, saving time and money. Furthermore, inflatable decoys are lightweight and easy to transport, making it simple to move them to various positions and deploy them in different situations.

    Above all, swimming positively affects the development of a child’s motor skills and coordination. During swimming, babies learn to control their body in the water, which can positively impact their motor development in the future. What’s more, water has a soothing effect on the little one, which translates into improved sleep and calm.

    Swimming is also an excellent way to strengthen the immune system. Contact with water stimulates the body to produce antibodies, which increases resistance to diseases and infections. In addition, swimming has a beneficial effect on the respiratory and circulatory systems, which can bring long-term health benefits for the child.

    However, it is worth remembering that baby swimming requires proper preparation and parental supervision. Before starting play in the water, you should consult a pediatrician and familiarize yourself with safety rules.

    DIY Repair – Gluing with a Repair Kit

     

    Instructions for Gluing PVC Products

    (pontoons and other inflatable products and PVC structures)

    1. Materials

    To carry out the repair, you will need:

    • a PVC patch matched to the product’s material,

    • PVC adhesive (two-component with hardener recommended),

    • degreasing agent (isopropyl alcohol / extraction naphtha),

    • clean lint-free cloth,

    • pressure roller or hard pressing tool,

    • scissors,

    • warm air source (hair dryer or heat gun – low temperature).

    2. Degreasing

    • Thoroughly clean the repair area.

    • Remove dust, water, and mechanical dirt.

    • Degrease the surface with a degreasing agent.

    • Leave to dry completely.

    ⚠ Grease and moisture significantly reduce the durability of the bond.

    3. Damage Outline (Patch Outline)

    • Apply the patch so that it overlaps the damage by at least 3–5 cm.

    • Round the corners of the patch.

    • Mark the outline of the gluing area.

    4. Applying the Glue

     

    • Mix the adhesive with the hardener according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

    • Apply a thin, even layer of glue:

      • onto the repaired surface,

      • onto the patch.

    Waiting Period

    • Wait approx. 10 minutes until the adhesive becomes dry to the touch (tacky state).

    Accelerating the Reaction

    • You can gently warm the surface with warm air (approx. 40–60°C).

    • Do not overheat the material.

    5. Pressing

    • Precisely place the patch onto the designated spot.

    • Press from the center outwards.

    • Use a pressure roller or a hard tool to remove air from under the patch.

    Curing Time

    • Do not inflate or load the product for at least 24 hours.

    • Full bond strength: 48–72 hours.

    Technical Notes

    • Gluing works best on flat surfaces.

    • Repairs in structural weld areas may be limited.

    • In case of major damage, welding by a specialized service center is recommended.
